Special sessions for learners are arranged with Phil Le Conte, see Contact Us, and usually take place before one of the practice nights i.e. Wednesday or Friday.

Church Bell Ringing

  • The aim is to offer a service to the church and enjoy a free hobby at the same time

  • There are usually social events organised throughout the year

  • An annual trip to Alderney in July/August to ring the bells at St. Anne's church

  • The island of Guernsey together with Jersey and Alderney make up the Channel Island District of the Winchester & Portsmouth Guild of Church Bellringers

  • We visit each island in turn to ring on dofferent bells and to hold an Annual District Meeting in one of the islands

  • It is a skill that should stay with you all your life

  • If you leave the island to go to University, most of the major University towns in the UK belong to a Guild and 'freshers' are always welcome

  • There are approximately 40 active bellringers on Guernsey
